The Renewable Energy Target is an Australian Government scheme designed to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases in the electricity sector and encourage the additional generation of electricity from sustainable and renewable sources. The larger the solar power Solar Power System you install, the more Renewable Energy Certificates (REC’s) you receive.
The certificates, called STC’s (small-scale technology certificates) can vary in value and can be used as a direct credit at time of purchase of your solar system. For example – Currently a 5kw solar power system in Victoria is eligible for 97 REC’s. Currently each certificate (STC) has a value of $35 Rebate available for 5kw system $3395.00 (subject to change)
