Get ready for the Cheaper
Home Battery Rebate
The Australian Government will implement the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, helping energy consumers reduce their electricity bills by storing their cheap, clean solar power,
From 1 July 2025, households and small businesses may be eligible for around a 30% discount on the upfront cost of installing a battery.
The program aims to help energy consumers reduce their electricity bills and cut their emissions by harnessing cheap, clean solar power.
Under the program, a household could save around:
- $4,000 off the upfront cost of installing an 11.5 kWh battery previously costing around $13,000.
- $700 to $1,600 per year on their electricity bill, with the battery delivering $300 to $900 of that.
The battery rebate is also available to busineseses when installing a battery up to 50kWh saving up to $16,500 discount on the up front cost.
Federal government incentives
STCs are financial incentives provided by the Australian government, offering a discount to your overall system cost based on the size of the system purchased.
The STC price falls every year, until it drops to zero in 2032 – in other words, the sooner a system is installed, the more you will save!
State government incentives
